Install latest/stable of network-manager
Ubuntu 16.04 or later?
Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.
Install using the command line

NetworkManager is a system network service that manages your network devices and connections, attempting to keep active network connectivity when available. It manages ethernet, WiFi, mobile broadband (WWAN) and PPPoE devices, provides VPN integration with a variety of different VPN serivces.
